Research Interests and Special Skills

The specialty areas and interests of Dr. Rundback make him well-suited to working at Premier Endovascular. These include:

  • Aneurysmal diseases
  • Varicose veins
  • Minimally invasive treatments
  • Amputation prevention

During an interview with a medical magazine, Dr. Rundback spoke at length about possible medical therapies for patients with a common vascular condition who might benefit from vascular treatments even if they didn’t have symptoms. The condition itself is called asymptomatic carotid stenosis, which is best described as a narrowing of the carotid artery.

According to Dr. Rundback, the key to finding the right therapy for someone with that condition is to find the right treatment that will reduce a patient’s risk of a cardiovascular event. To that end, he explained that he was staying on top of that and other therapy options by participating in a variety of clinical trials. He added that he foresaw collaborative medicine models — where experts from across multiple fields solve patient needs together — as the next step in driving improved and dependable outcomes.
