A Leading East Coast Interventional Radiologist and Sought-After Interviewee

Like his colleagues at Premier Endovascular, Dr. Herman has been asked by journalists and medical podcasters to share his knowledge. During one live question and answer session, he made several key points that indicate the need for at-risk patients to partner with interventional radiologists:

  • Vascular diseases can go undetected for a long time: Patients may not realize they have peripheral vascular disease and peripheral arterial disease because they lack symptoms. As such, they continue engaging in habits like smoking, unhealthy eating and skipping their prescribed cholesterol and diabetes medications.
  • Taking a multidisciplinary approach to medicine can pay off in better results: Patients with vascular conditions deserve a doctor who is passionate, compassionate and patient. Dr. Herman noted during the event that it’s important for doctors in his field to understand the emerging treatments in complementary disciplines. That way, doctors can recommend minimally invasive, cutting-edge prevention and intervention therapies that might save a patient from losing a limb or experiencing another trauma to the body.
  • Collaboration among experts is a proven way to drive truly individualized care: Complicated medical decisions often call for the input of multiple care team members. The more specialists who can contribute to a solution, the better the patient’s outcomes are likely to be.
