
With over three decades of achieving national-level expertise, Dr. Rundback is a recognized limb-salvage expert specializing in minimally invasive vascular and endovascular therapies. His uncompromising commitment is reflected in Premier Endovascular’s core mission — to save limbs that others can’t. He specializes in providing advanced interventions that prevent major limb loss and dramatically improve patient outcomes, with expertise in complex peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and critical limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI).
Dr. Rundback is a graduate of the prestigious seven-year BA-MD program at CUNY Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he graduated summa cum laude. Following an internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York, NY, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Beth Israel Medical Center, one of the leading healthcare facilities serving patients throughout New York City. His fellowship took him to Washington, D.C., where he trained at the at Washington Hospital Center in Interventional Radiology and vascular research.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology with added qualifications in Interventional Radiology, Dr. Rundback is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA), the Society for Vascular Medicine (FSVM), and the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR).
A true innovator in clinical research, Dr. Rundback has served as a Principal or National Investigator for over 70 landmark clinical trials evaluating cutting-edge devices and therapies for PAD, CLI and amputation prevention.
He is the founder of the Outpatient Research Cardiovascular Alliance Clinical Trials Network (ORCA). This nationwide initiative provides Premier Endovascular patients with unparalleled access to novel technologies and clinical trials not available elsewhere in the region. Through ORCA, Dr. Rundback and his team continually push the boundaries of vascular medicine, offering hope and advanced treatment options to patients facing even the most complex cases.
Dr. Rundback embodies Premier Endovascular’s philosophy that “our doctors teach doctors,” and he is a globally recognized educator and thought leader. Dr. Rundback has contributed his energies and expertise to authoring more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and books. He is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge through his service on the editorial boards of prominent journals, including the Journal of Critical Limb Ischemia, JVIR, Endovascular Today and Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions.
His unique insights have led to more than 500 invited lectures at prestigious international meetings like VIVA, ISET, AMP, CLI Global, CIRSE and Charing Cross.
Beyond academia, Dr. Rundback advises leading MedTech companies, including Abbott, Medtronic and Boston Scientific, and co-develops technology with vascular startups, including those he founded, such as Protexa and ORCA.
